Taking part for the second year in the Cake Con Collaboration is beyond exciting and I couldn’t thank Mayra enough for having me aboard. This year I chose to create one of my favorites actors, Jack Nicholson – Official one of the roles that terrified me the most as a child, Jack Torrance created by the incredible Stephen King in his best seller The Shining.

Even though the movie is nearly 40 years old, the way it builds Jack Nicholson’s descent into madness is a complete feast for the eyes as it is for the mind, something so unique that no one else managed to recreate. The film is simultaneously scary, suspenseful, beautiful,funny and psychologically intriguing. It has the classic mystery of Hitchcock and the terror of a modern thriller that managed to scare the hell out of me and still does every time I think about it.

I tried to depict Jack Nicholson in the depth of his psychosis, when he was so unpredictable that he would easily trick the viewers into believing he wasn’t such bad guy after all. I spent a lot of time studying his eyes and protruding look and I hope I managed to transmit a bit of it’s intensity and fermenting anger.

My piece has a metal structure, foam core, rice crispy parts and is sculpted out of modelling chocolate.
