In honor of my granddaughter’s 3rd birthday.
Parts of Minnie and the clock tower are made of pastillage – my new favorite medium and many thanks to Chef Yener for teaching how to use it.
The grassy board that I am most pleased with was redone no fewer than 3 times! This final version uses oats (again thanks to Chef Yener’s very generous tips), royal icing, piping gel and TruColor.
Many of the elements of this cake were inspired by Shawna McGreevy’s you tube “Castle Cake”.
Minnie’s face is thanks to a really great you tube tutorial by CupnCakesGourmet.
My granddaughter kept asking to hug Minnie so I guess the mouse was a success.
As an added thing for the party I hid little bags of surprises for the children inside the clock tower.
My granddaughter had to guess where they were hidden and then to hand them out to her guests.
