For my cake, my design showcases the rich fabric and colors of Mardi Gras costumes as well as the intricately detailed masks worn. I used products made by Satin Ice, Icing Images and Americolor as well as wafer paper and Royal Icing. The mask ontop of the cake and the colored beads and the scroll borders on the two tiers were handpiped using Royal Icing, the blue pleats were wafer paper coated with Flexique and Icing Images products and the rest of the cake was covered with Satin Ice fondant.
