This was my contribution for the Wold cancer day collaboration.
My journey into sugar flowers started off almost 12 years ago. Just to relive the daily stress of modern life I decided to do something creative & enjoyable. Since I always loved sweets, my attention went towards baking. I did some basic classes of Cake decorating and was so enthralled with the world of sugar, that my creativity suddenly seems to have found wings . I started off decorating freebies for friends and colleagues, which turned out to be a plus point as my hobby started paying off. I was a bit hesitant at first to make sugar flowers but a sudden short notice Engagement Cake left me with no choice and I ended up making almost 30 roses in 3 days.
The end result of the roses gave a happy feeling and was a turning point for me and thus began my flower passion. I went on to enhance my skills doing the PME flower module and from there onwards the passion for flowers continued. Gaining confidence, that I was now ready to pass on my skills, I quit my full time job to get into teaching Sugar flowers and Cake decorating 6 years ago. At times when I feel down due to my arthritis , I take inspiration from my Yoga teacher who is a Cancer survivor and does not let anything stop her from continuing her Yoga. It s been almost 10 months since I relocated to India and my passion for Sugar flowers continues with trying out new flowers and passing on my skills to those who are interested. https://www.facebook.com/JudeCreations
