Another 40th cake.
My darling cousin commissioned me to do her daughter’s 40th cake, based on her daughter’s wedding bouquets which consisted of different colour rose buds, stargazer lilies, leaves and lisianthus buds (See photos where you can see her wedding pic and bouquets).

Other pics are candid shots with different angles as well as the flowers on their own, prior to assembly.

The cake is my first “naked” rich chocolate cake, with outer layer being ganache finished (no fondant here). The layers inside are delectable, light, Swiss chocolate buttercream.
Always in a happy place when making flowers (especially after completing a challenging 1 meter x 2 meter painting commission) and as Janine keeps everything I make, I made her flowers in cold porcelain, as easier to keep, than sugar flowers.
I was thrilled to bits when she saw her cake and jumped for joy when she recognised her wedding bouquet right away. An emotional moment.
Giving pleasure to others, I’m sure you all agree, is the most warming feeling. A gift in itself.
Have a beautiful week all and happy creating, whatever it may be! Thanks for looking xx 😘
