A little fun set of dinosaur cupcakes for a boy’s 3rd birthday. This time, the little boy’s mother was making his main cake and I knew it would involve modelled dinosaurs so I decided to do something different. Every now and again I have a go with the old paintbrush. As I was not sure how they would turn out, I decided to cut out some edible discs and then paint on those …. with plan B in place just in case it proved to be a total disaster!

As it turned out, the little cakes went down a treat, I was so thrilled and encouraged by the reaction and look forward to another opportunity to paint themed cupcakes. Next time I will aim to be brave enough to paint directly onto the cakes and not be such a wimp!

The cake board is painted with a Jurassic Park T-Rex effect … kind of …

Anyway, it was a fun celebration all round!
