What an honour to be a part of this vibrant, traditional collaboration, depicting so many incredible aspects of India, traditions, art, sculptures and vibrancy. loved all the creations and a must to go visit at Incredible India – An International Cake Collaboration (see link below) . This was the mastermind of the lovely Tina Scott Parashar and so much hard work put into the collaboration and all of us.
I did an Indian Wedding Cake which is part hand painted (cocoa butter) with an Indian bride portrait and added gold flowers in her hair. The base tier is also hand painted and inspired by traditional textiles. The next tier up from the bride I hand modelled the elephant head and painted gold. The lilies are fantasy red and gold with berries. the silver “brocade” effect I did by hand using a dresden tool to texture and assimilate the ornate brocade hemming found on the traditional bridal wear.
Supplies used were Saracino Cocoa Butter and colours to paint, then #Saracino modelling chocolate for the elephant, then the #Saracino modelling paste for the brocade top tier. Also used #Saracino gold and silver dust mixed with lemon essence to paint Platinum paste for the flowers. All tiers are royal iced.
