This was my cake for Cake Fair 2017 Orlando. I won 2nd place in the Intermediate Novelty category. I did oranges because when I think of Florida that is what I think of. This cake was a lot of firsts for me. This cake was done using Trucolors which are all natural and amazingly vibrant. (I’ll never use anything else) and my isomalt and leaf veiner was from Chef Rubber. It was my first time blowing sugar and the isomalt was super easy to work with plus the leaf veiner had beautiful detail. I also got to use my edible printer I won from PhotoFrost. I hand painted my plaque in cocoa butter which was a 5 and a half hour process but so worth it. All in all I was happy with the way it turned out.
