I have been presented this opportunity to showcase my thoughts about World Yoga Day via a Collaboration and I hereby put forward my thoughts duly showcased in the form of this creation.
I am a Hindu by religion and since my childhood, I have been instilled with values and principles governed by the religious texts and practices of our Hindu culture.
YOGA… is a very valuable, popular and integral part of this culture as this is a way where one can attain the oneness of both Body and Mind. It is believed, and it is my belief that you can be free of Stress and numerous types of ailments if you practice YOGA daily.
My creation here is inspired by this very aspect of our culture. I have tried to bring to life my thoughts in the form of this cake.
I have used a Hexagonal base which has been used as the bottom tier or as a basis of support for all the other tiers. It has been designed keeping in mind the 07 CHAKRAS of Yoga. Each of the six side of the hexagonal cake has a significant symbol synonymous with One Chakra. I have eliminated the Crown Chakra symbol because we have put the different tiers in its place.
The cake has been designed and has been given a very old textured and rustic look like you may find in old Indian Temples and institutions. The main cake has been divided into three cubes of different sizes stacked one on top of the other. This arrangement signifies my belief that Yoga is and has been the building blocks of our religious and healthy society for the past many centuries. I have also shown different Yoga postures by way of Stick Figures put on the blocks along with pink Blossoms signifying that anyone practicing Yoga on a regular basis will always remain fresh and lovely like these Blossoms…. ALWAYS IN THE PINK OF HEALTH…
