Our big day has finally come and gone

Thank you so much to everyone that sent beautiful messages, we really appreciate them

Our cake took over 300 hours

I chose to use a dummy in the end as Adrian didn’t want to cut it
But the decoration of the icing itself was the quick part and took two days to ice, carve, hand paint with cocoa butter and decorate with saracino and the modelled figures

It was the flowers that took the most time

We love wild flowers so wanted to include a few of our favourites
The castle on the front is castell coch near our house which is where we had our first date

The back shows our love of Star Wars/films/sci fi
But we wanted to do it in quite a discreet way
So we chose the forests of endor and I made us as Han and leia and I painted a simple Death Star on the back (so yes our cake had a dark side lol)

The figure looked so much like my husband, that I giggled when I put the little glasses on him.
That was a very quick part of the cake, only a few hours to make the figures
