This is my piece on Migraines for the Unseen Battles collaboration hosted by the lovely Erin Schwartz of Stacked. The collaboration is small with amazing work and powerful messaging. https://www.facebook.com/UnseenBattlesCollab/?pnref=story

My piece represents the Unseen Battle of Migraines. I dedicate this to my son who has been suffering with them for many years. I remember fighting back tears while sitting in a dark room with him lightly rubbing his back as he struggled to cope with the pain that made is eyes feel like broken glass and his head was being stabbed with sharp tools. He describes the pain as being so intense that getting up to take medication or go to the bathroom is almost impossible. Migraines can last up to 72 hours that may include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, or smell.
Painted paneled fondant with cracked isomalt eye, isomalt glass shards and a chocolate tool made from my own mold.
Special thanks to Migraine Action of the UK for their inspirational artwork.

Fantastic interpretation!! Stunning piece! ! ! !

Thank you! Interpreting others feelings was quite the challenge.

Jeanne your interpretation is bang on. Really depicts the pain and agony. I’ve suffered with migraines since I was 13. Still do. I emphasize with your son..I know how difficult it is.
