Prince is one of my all-time favourite artists. I was lucky enough to see him live 5 times from 1990 to 2014 and in 2 different hemispheres! A brilliant performer, both musically and visually. I took inspiration for my piece from his video for “Raspberry Beret”. The video also used animated images which, I was delighted to see him using during his Australian tour in 2012. The clouds and ruffles on the cake echo his outfit in the video. The guitar is a copy of the one he is playing, the silhouettes represent the audience all dancing and clapping in time, and the paintings are copies of the animation showing behind him. ❤
