I was so honored to be asked to participate in the Carnival Cakers Collaboration! It was such a wonderful experience getting to work with such talented sugar artists, not only on a favorite subject of mine, but also in such a fun & friendly group.
Just under 2 months before our pieces were due, a very talented caker created a mask based on the inspiration I had chosen. That gave me the push I needed to reevaluate how I was going to present my subject. I chose to focus on the Art Nouveau style of the mask and to create a cake inspired by the mask rather than actually creating the mask itself. I hope you see how I was inspired!
