This year for World Cancer Day and as part of the Sugar Flowers Cancer Collaboration, I created my piece as simply a cup, saucer and teapot. Its what we all go for with any sort of news, good, bad, in Ireland at least we put the kettle on. I created a tutorial to go alongside my piece, which can be found on my Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/sweetcreations.ie/

We, as artists, collaborate for a wide variety of reasons, to share our work, for fun and most importantly to pay tribute. Cancer in all its forms takes on average 8 million lives per year and I feel it is fair to assume that most people have had a loved one who suffered through this horrendous disease.
For this collaboration we memorialize these loved ones in our flowers as a symbol of our love for them and their ordeal. It is a tribute to those we have lost through cancer, those who live with it every day and those who have beaten it and of course not to forget the carer’s.
We invite you all to view and enjoy the contributions and we would appreciate any feedback you would like to give.
