I made these two 6" cakes a couple of weeks ago, another slutty brownie cake (I need to find a new name for that cake) and a banana choco hazelnut cake. They were surprise cakes for two people at pottery. Terry, the class instructor, had her birthday days before my friend Scott who is in the class with me.

Every now and then I bring cakes to class with me to deliver after class so they thought nothing of these two when I brought them in. It was fun to watch them oooh and awww over them and then to see their expressions when I said they were for them :-) Terry actually jumped up and down and Scott gave me a huge hug and said it was the best birthday cake he’d ever gotten :-) I love getting those reactions.

I really like these two recipes, they are simple’ish but taste so yummy and are fun to decorate since they don’t need to be exact.
