Introducing the Twisted Sugar Artists.
A group of International Award-Winning Cake Artists got together to create an artistic and slightly darker/fun version of #AliceinWonderland in edible Sugarcraft, affectionately called #downthecakehole . What fun we had!! This was all on display recently at* Cakes International NEC Birmingham*
My contribution was:
- The swashbuckling Dormouse (RKT, fondant, gumpaste, modelling chocolate, cake Lace)
- The menacing mushroom (RKT, fondant and modelling chocolate)
- The moody woodland backdrop (7′×14′) Hand Painted in acrylics.
Here is the list of the other artists and their characters and/or pieces:
- Alice: Karen Keaney (our amazing mastermind of the concept)
- Queen of Hearts: Daniel
- Cheshire Cat: Jacqui Kelly
- Mad Hatter: Isabel
- Dead sugar flowers, leaves, gourds, mushrooms and slugs: Christine
- Food on table (all made from Sugarcraft) Laura
- March Hare: Janette Mc
- Isomalt cups, saucers and candelabra: Mayte

Your Dormouse is fantastic, gorgeous detail work! It is that backdrop that floors me, however! So beautiful and so BIG! Yet again, your talent bowls me over!

ahhh, thank you all so much… much appreciated 💕
Sandra, it was a challenge for sure, but really enjoyed it, despite falling off the palette it was propped up on, but got away with a few bruises only.
