This was my piece for sugar myths and fantasies 2.0

It is hugely inspired by the incredible sculpture by Ellen Jewett. As soon as I saw it, I just wanted to make it. Just for me, one of those things you are not satisfied until you do it. <3

If you haven’t seen her work, go and look, it is all incredibly intricate and wonderfully nature inspired.

The piece is a 12" tall model, mostly Saracino, with satin ice fondant and wafer paper.

On the original sculpture she hid birds amongst the leaves and that was what I found most inspiring about it, so I really wanted to do the same with wafer paper.
