Wedding Cake "Veiled Romanticism " for "Pasteles de Ensueño" Magazine
I felt very honored when the magazine “Pasteles de Ensueño” invited me to take part in his special number of wedding cakes for August. I have designed this wedding cake inspired by the Yolan Cris’s “Roure” wedding dress , it belongs to his collection " Romantic Lace Bride " 2016. The dress of this bride realized by hand, with a precious design of rods and mix of laces of french chantillí with silk tulle and flowers in tones mallow and blue sewed to hand. This garmen interested me specially for his sensitivity, the overlapping of layers and the touch of color in mauve and blue of the tiny flowers.
For the cake I simplified four layers of the garment in two imitating the details of both low caps directly on the cake into which I incorporated the silverleaf. On the silverleaf I drew with royal icing similar designs to the ones in the lace of chantilly of both low layers of the garment. With discs of sugarpaste in the low and top part of every floor, being these of major size that the floor of sponge cake I generated the distance adapted to place a veil with a lace of which it imitates tulle extended in wafer and with him I covered the first three floors. Stuck to the tulle the rods of wafer and glasa, and also the white, mauve and blue tiny flowers with some leaves and green branches of wafer simulating those of the garment. The fourth floor this one decorated with edible lace and the flowers wired of wafer and royal icing generating a composition more airy and incorporating three white roses that crown the cake.
