This cake took lots of planning to get all the elements in harmony that I was asked to include. It was more like an epic movie than a cake….but Karen wanted to surprise her friend Trevor with a reminder of the amazing experiences they just shared on a wonderful African holiday together as a group…..as well as a special quote from the trip which highlighted the fact he was ‘sixty’. Each circular disc was cut from icing and everything you see is all handpainted. Yes…all the writing, the leopard and zebra patterns….and the safari scene which had to include all the ‘big 5’ animals..I even added in a few extras! I finished with a bit of airbrushing to tie everything together.
