I love how this cake turned out! The funny thing is that the photographs make it look like a cut-out, like part of the decor! :D
Its layers of vanilla cake with a chocolate butter icing, sculpted to look like the Cat in the Hat’s hat, from the Dr. Seuss stories, covered and decorated with sugar paste. I did the cupcakes too – the other sweet treats and the decoration of the sweet table was done by other people.
The only time I do a theme that is subject to copyright is as a gift for my niece, nephews, and close friends’ kidlets, and I don’t post these cakes to my website or Facebook page… I tried putting these “special” cakes in a separate album on my Facebook page, saying they can’t be ordered, but people don’t read… I would love to show my work everywhere, but people keep trying to order them. :/
