कुछ कुछ होता है Kuch kuch hotaa hai! Really got into the spirit of Bollywood researching for this cake – so much beauty, colour and intricacy in Indian art and design.
The cake was for a farewell celebration for the provost and CEO for the University of Nottingham Malaysian Campus. She loves the art, culture and food of India, so naturally a Bollywood cake would be the perfect choice, complete with a topper of her in one of her fav outfits.
Top tier. Handpiped royal icing mehndi designs reminiscent of henna. Flowers to symbolise joy and happiness, paisley for luck, and a swan for beauty and success.
Second tier. Motifs reminiscent of Indian zardosi embroidery, and wafer paper blossoms
Base tier. Inspired by the irridescent colours of the peacock – purple with overlay of turquoise and gold
