In his picture, I saw the peeling paint, rotting wood and fading colours while all she can do is resignedly close her eyes and weep in the dark swirls of the universe. It moved me so much I was compelled to use it.

Hand modelled Boozy Fruit cake which I gave to my step daughter for her birthday. She is a tree hugger of note and her life’s ambition is to save the planet. There is a small teardrop on her cheek which is visible in the evening light later in the day. The candle represents the ticking time bomb. There are a few progress photos in this gallery. Mr Adelman is thrilled that I chose his work for my inspiration.

This international collaboration is also a fundraiser for National Geographic which is a non profit committed to conservation and education of our emerging leaders
