As part of a lovely collaboration – Sugar Artists for Autism Awareness, I created this piece, based on Anjana Krishna’s quilled picture.
Anjana is a 17 year old, Dubai based student who was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2.
I got to interact with Anjana’s mom, Bhuvana and got a lot of insights into what a parent goes through when their child is “different”.
My piece is dedicated to her and to all other such mothers.
The bottom tier represents the turmoil in the parents mind when they first realise that their child is different.
Then comes the acceptance that they are differently abled.
Finally, the encouragement to soar high and reach their individual goal.
Thanks for looking!
