A made a small cake, since it’s going to be just hubby & I for Easter. Wanted a fun spring Easter cake. Painted a little garden scene on the front of the cake, which includes a royal icing piped bunny. Had to add my signature coffee filter paper flowers, so popped on a yellow daffodil.  On top, birds nest is gum paste and piped royal icing painted with colour gels. It’s filled with combo of real dried grasses and cut up coloured coffee filter paper. Blue bird’s eggs are gum paste speckled with brown colour gel.  The Easter Hare is hand drawn with pencil and  black food colour markers on a gum paste plaque. Added coffee filter paper ears for dimension. And the Hare has to have his carrots…. there gum paste of course!!
Bottom of cake is sitting on a real tree stump surrounded by real dried grasses with a gum paste Easter Lily.
