Thrilled to finally share my pieces for the Celtic Cakers #Awaywiththefairies collaboration that was on display this weekend at the Irish Sugarcraft Show in Dublin. A Fairy Woodland made up of edible trees, animals, foliage and approximately 250 teeny-weeny fairies! There was even an edible wishing well where we collected donations for children’s cancer charity, Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, and the fairies were auctioned off following the show, to raise even more money. To see the collaboration in full, please head over to the Away with the Fairies Centrepiece page and give us a like!
My fairy is based on Oonagh, Queen of the Fairies from Irish Folklore, and she is made from Saracino modelling paste, with wafer paper wings. Along with my fairy, I also made some mushrooms and toadstools for the woodland floor, plus an edible “bush” made up of over 300 individually airbrushed wafer paper leaves!
