Sweet Periwinkle

Sweet Periwinkle

We are 18 cake designers from around the world who came together to bring awareness and the message of hope for Eating Disorder Recovery. February 1, 2016 marks the beginning of Eating Disorder Awareness month, symbolized by a periwinkle flower to honour the periwinkle awareness ribbon. Our medium is sugar and our message is the hope of recovery for anyone touched by an eating disorder.

My design was symbolism of a seemingly delicate flower yet this periwinkle flower was standing tall with hope and finding strength within…with the assistance of love, support, encouragement, and understanding for recovery of this serious illness.

The pieces from the Sweet Periwinkle collaboration , I felt…were created and conveyed with much respect and such emotion.
You can view the Sweet Periwinkle page to see all of the creations. https://www.facebook.com/sweetperiwinklecollab/?fref=ts

Thank you so very much Shannon Bond for the invitation to participate, for such a meaningful cause. It truly was an honour to have been amidst you all. xx
