Sweet Periwinkle is 17 cake designers from around the world who came together to bring awareness and the message of hope for Eating Disorder Recovery. February 1, 2016 marks the beginning of Eating Disorder Awareness month, symbolized by a periwinkle awareness ribbon. Our medium is sugar and our message is the hope of recovery for anyone touched by an eating disorder.

Each of these artists created their own interpretation to represent the hope of recovery, with the only requirement to include a periwinkle flower into their design in some way. Each of the designs are so unique and heartfelt, I cannot wait for you to see them all! These ladies have been a part of this vision for a year – a long wait for a reveal! My heart will be forever grateful to each of them. Our intent is to focus on the hope of recovery to anyone who has been touched by an eating disorder. My piece represents my journey from darkness to recovery. The hardened, barren prison of addiction with the crack of hope that gives way to life outside of the darkness. One of my favorite quotes is by Corrie Ten Boom, "There is no pit so deep, that God’s love is not deeper still.” In the darkest of nights, the bottom of that pit of despair and loneliness, there is always hope.
