This is one of two cakes I decorated for our Christmas family gatherings. (other is my snow globe cake) Both completed in two days before Christmas. Not sure what I was thinking – so much work!

The poinsettia flowers are gumpaste, each one done by hand. (no cutters or veining tool)
The pot is all hand painted (free hand) with edible paints. Plant pot and cake board covered with fondant, and oreo crumbs for dirt. Vanilla spice cake (red and green layers) and buttercream icing.
