My first attempt at a 3D pug cake … on a pillow. I have to admit I was horrified when this was ordered, but decided that a challenge was a challenge and I was going to do my best. I asked Master Google for any and all tutorials and read/ watched every single one before I started as well as a decent amount of Pug Pics … thank you once again to EVERYONE who offers tutorials on-line … You guys ROCK! I used Ann from How to Cook That’s tutorial for the pillow.
I used round cakes and a dome cake for the head, and then made cake pop mix with the off cuts to fill in the neck area. Legs and tail was made of fondant. Next I pulled out my airbrush that I have been avoiding since I bought it … And managed to get the cream colour over without too many horrific mistakes. Finally I used a fondant and modelling chocolate mix for the ears, eyes and nose and petal dust for shading.
