This was actually a cake topper and was 10" at the base (made of chocolate cake with fondant & gumpaste accents, then painted with a paintbrush with a variety of browns, blacks and oranges). This little guy sat atop a 12" round chocolate cake, but as mentioned in the title of the cake… he didn’t sit there for long. As with most dogs, this guy couldn’t sit still and after placing him atop the cake at the venue, I left, then got a phone call saying that he’d fallen forward and nearly off the cake… but not before splitting in two. :‘( I’ve never really had a cake disaster, so I knew this day would come, but I know that a lot of you have, and I want you to know that you’re not alone. I cried a lot, but I learned a lesson and now I’ll be more careful with heavy dogs and cakes! TFL :)
