So my son turned 16 yesterday and is really into his games. His current fav. is Counter Strike and the Marble Fade Knife. So naturally his cake needed to represent that. I decided, that instead of doing a logo etc. I’d try a 3D version of a screen shot. For all you Counter Strike fans out there, I know it’s not 100%, but I was really proud of the the outcome.

I created a layered effect on the upright back board using layers of fondant and then hand painted in the details. The bottom was cake with two hand modelled hands and the knife, and the floor was hand painted.

… Added note: Just to clarify my 3D Counter Strike Screen Shot cake … I attempted a 3D rendition of a computer game screen shot. In the last picture with 4 images – the top left picture is the screen shot, and the other 3 are of my cake. Hope it makes more sense now.
