As a major animal lover, I wanted to do justice to this beautiful, regal creature. I painted “Leo” onto a hand-cut fondant plaque using blended food color gels. This is my first realistic edible animal painting, and I can’t wait to do more! When I painted him, the late Cecil the Lion was part of my inspiration, hence some of the black fur showing through on his mane. The cake itself is vanilla-almond, with vanilla buttercream. Thanks for looking xx
