I was initially asked to make this cake as a celebration of a 60th Wedding Anniversary but then the husband of the couple became seriously ill and very very sadly passed away just days before the anniversary. The daughter who’d commissioned the cake said she wanted me to go ahead with it because the topper, the sofa and all the figures, was something she wanted to have and keep forever in remembrance of her father. The cake was taken to the family gathering before the funeral and apparently they all loved it. Cake it seems is indeed for all occasions, happy and sad.
