I had never done a standing cake before but was on my bucket list of cakes I would like to try, so when I was approached for this cake I jumped at the chance. The cake was for a little bot turning 2 who loves this TV show called Super Wings and his favorite characters name is Jett. Now I can say this took me more than double the time it should have taken. Although I had everything on paper and all my measurements figured out I still ended up cutting my internal rods wrong twice and although I thought using stryo to form the legs would be quicker, in the end I wish I just had of used rice krispie treats as I think it took much longer to shape and mold than the RK would have. The top red part is entirely cake and although they only needed 10 servings I actually ended up with way, way more than that, lol.
In the end the piece stood almost 16inches tall with a wing span of 18 inches. This cake, even though much smaller, took me 2 times longer to do than my huge chinook cake, how silly is that.
