When designing this cake, I was inspired by the colors and textures of the ocean/beach/nautical themes. The mother of pearl and gold sequins are made with wafer paper. The driftwood is made using an impression mat and then colored with petal dusts for added texture. All flowers are hand made out of sugar… my most ambitious flower making session yet, which I thoroughly enjoyed! The anchor is hand cut gumpaste and covered in disco dust.
