Just sorting through my pictures and realised that I haven’t posted this little baby. This is what inspired me to make the panels on my Gold award winning cake. I was playing around with ideas and wanted to get a wood effect. The white looking wood was actually a light beige to start with then painted with sugarflair superwhite powder as I found that this gave a better effect than the white paste.

It is amazing what you can achieve by just ‘playing about’ ………………….I have this cake as one of my display cakes for wedding fayres and always gets plenty of comments as its quite Rustic/Barn looking.
