I made this cake for a dear friend of mine, a little secret between me and her daughters until the big day. The inspiration came from the napkins their mum had purchased that would set the theme for the tea party, a good job really as I would never have designed a pink cake for her, pink is not usually her colour!! I’m not sure what the flowers are, but they are a copy of the ones on the napkins. They wanted bunting so I used a lettered bunting mould for her name. The bottom tier is a vanilla sponge with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream. The top tier is a lemon sponge with lemon curd and lemon buttercream. I’m really pleased with the finished cake :-)
