You know when you wish you had a week to work on one cake alone?

That was this week!

I adore this book, and when my client said she loved a cake by the fab Paula cake couture and could I make it, I said, as long as we can change it up a bit so that it isn’t a copy of Paulas beautiful cake.

So I went up to my sons bedroom and got the book, and sat and read, and had little joyful tears in my eyes, so many wonderful memories reading it with my boys.

I decided that I didn’t want to use my edible printer for this so painted the images with sugarflair paste colours and water. Then realised that I wanted to try and use other painted images from the book, like the gate, ferns, flowers, tree and tree stump, rocks, grassy bits, …….oh I wish I had had so much longer, I think the whole book would have gone in there! Time won out in the end.

Please excuse the wet look to the piping, I only took the pic just as it dried. I noticed the wonky ribbon as I put it into the box, but had no time to go back up and re-photograph.

Crumbs! I was even wishing I could have just kept the flowerpaste painted bunnies lol

My client only ordered thinking about the front, which meant I got to pick another couple of illustrations to put on the back, so I had to include the lovely one of the little bunny stretched out asleep. Insert happy sigh here
