My client’s son wanted an Avengers cake from the new movie the Age of Ultron, & he wanted his little action figures on a battleground. I went to see the movie for research, was having a tough time figuring out what I wanted to do, & then dreamed about the floating city of Novi Grad. So I decided to create the scene where the Avengers were gathered around the detonator set by Ultron & defending it.

The top of the city & the surrounding mountains are Hot Chocolate cake with Oreo filling. The underside of the city is created with a LOT of rice krispy treats, held together with candy melts, since they didn’t want to defy gravity very well in our rainy weather! the underside of the city is covered with modeling chocolate The figures are all toys supplied by the birthday boy. And of course I had to light the detonator up!

The party was at this awesome ziplining camp. We had to carry the cake through a literal stream & waterfall with a beautiful water wheel to get to the party site. Definitely different! Glad my client was a big strong guy who could carry this monster cake that far safely! It’s a good 2 feet wide & over a foot tall.
