Every year for Mothers Day, i always strive to surprise my mother. She has been there for me through good and bad. I don’t know what I would do without her, and watching my mother cry when I surprised her with her cake, made me forget the countless hours spent, sleepless nights going over the details.

This piece is made up of Parrot tulips, Succulents and white Crocus flowers. The Edible Moss was created by coloring basic sugar cookie dough, over-baked and ground up. Dry brushing with petal dust adds depth and royal icing adds for that old decrepit look.

This cake was not only made just for my mother, but for all the women, far and near, who taught us how to be brave, fearless and independent.
