Odin's Messengers

Daily Top 3 - May 13, 2015

The theme of my cake is Odin’s Messengers.

In Norse mythology, Huginn (from Old Norse “thought”) and Muninn (Old Norse “memory” or “mind”) are a pair of ravens that fly all over the world, Midgard, and bring information to the god Odin.

I chose this piece because I love Norse Mythology and who doesn’t like Ravens?

This was my first time actually making a designer cake, in fact a lot of firsts, including first time using fondant and first time painting with food coloring. It was definitely a learning experience all the way around!

A big thank you to everyone that took part, facilitated, cheered and rooted everyone on in this collaboration, it’s definitely been fun, stressful and a learning experience!
