A Madagascar theme cake for a first birthday party.

Aanya’s parents wanted her birthday cake design to go with the party theme – Madagascar. So it was going to be a forest theme cake with the Madagascar characters. Another requirement they had, was to have one cake tier covered with shocking Pink fondant. The color scheme felt bit like a mismatch in the beginning, but I am pretty pleased with how the cake has turned out! The cake is decorated with ‪*Marty* the Zebra, ‪*Melman* the Giraffe, ‪*Alex* the Lion and ‪*Gloria* the Hippo‬’s edible figurines. The animal toppers are placed on the base and bottom tier, of the cake, that are designed to go with the forest theme. The top tier, covered with shocking Pink fondant, is decorated to look like another cake placed in midst of the forest. Sitting on top of the cake is the birthday girl’s figurine wearing her party dress.
