……and use your imagination you might, just possibly, see roses on the front and peonies on the side…….think impressionist!!!
Well I’ve finally had a go at painting on a cake. I went to a lovely class at Blue Door Bakery with a very patient and encouraging teacher in Dani.
At school art was never my subject – even my stickmen didn’t look sticky enough if you get me!
I’m very happy with the little blossoms on the ribbon (I can do dots!) – and that I actually plucked up the courage to take my brush to the cake after a lot of practice on a piece of flat icing.
That first brush to cake moment felt a bit like jumping off a cliff!!!
I will never be an artist, but I found the whole thing surprisingly therapeutic and will definitely give it another go.
Pointers to any good (and simple) tutorials aimed at the artistically challenged would be hugely appreciated please.
Glad I found a use for some of my old practice rosebuds for the picture as well – at least these actually look rose like :-0
Thanks for squinting ;-) x
