I was really honored when I was contacted to design a cake for our pastor’s big 25th anniversary/retirement celebration. Psalm 19 became my inspiration, especially verse 10 that talks about God’s word being “more precious than gold…sweeter than honey.” Those images together became the design for this cake. Honeycomb textured fondant on the top and bottom tiers with 3 different shades of gold luster and highlighter. I made gumpaste succulents, blossoms and berries all tipped in gold to symbolize God’s sustaining grace throughout times of both hardship and plenty in our lives. I really love how it came together – I wasn’t sure if it would look too feminine or busy. Thank you for looking! <3 Shannon
