Remember Violet the trendy ice skater from the village of Frostington? Well, Polly sure didn’t! Amid the hustle and bustle of Christmas last year plus some health issues, Polly had totally forgotten about poor Violet until she was told that Violet had been featured in “Cake Design France” magazine issue 9. 2014. Wow! Fancy that!

So here she is… Violet, with her wind swept, jet black hair as she balances on one skate and glides effortlessly on the ice. Her favourite colour is violet, of course and she loves anything in shades of purple and lilac!

“Violet” is my contribution to the wonderful sugar village scene in the Christmas in Frostington collaboration whose goal is to help raise funds for three great charities – Alzheimer’s Society, Australia’s Melanoma Research Foundation, and Icing Smiles. The inspiration for Violet’s trendy winter outfit was from Carlos Lischetti’s “Autumn Breeze”. She was also named after my talented cake friend Violet of The Violet Cake Shop was a big influence on me getting rid of my inhibitions of using the “difficult” colour purple in my sugar art.
