I can’t help but tear up a little bit every time I see this cake.
This is my second Icing Smiles cake. It was made for a sweet girl in my town named Annabel. It was made for her third birthday.
Annabel has Tay Sachs Disease. Which means she will not see many more birthdays past this one.
Tay Sachs is terminal, taking most children by the age of four.
Meeting Annabel and her family was an amazing, life-affirming experience. Annabel is making a difference in other people’s lives in such a short time. I am grateful for the opportunity to know them!
Her mom asked for a cake using the colors navy blue, pink and turquoise and let me know that Annabel LOVES butterflies.
The butterflies are printed on wafer paper and hand cut with piped candy melt bodies and some with a little piping gel and edible glitter sprinkled on them.
Thanks for looking :)
Peace, love & cake,
