This was a cake I did for a close friend last December before I went on my Christmas holidays …she left the design to me completely and I made something I’ve been wanting to convert into cake ever since I started caking. My mom used to collect these cute "love is " strips from the newspaper and I fell in love with them too. The main figurines on the cake were not exactly based on the cartoon strips …they were somewhat based on the couple I made them for. I drew out my favourite ones on fondant with edible pens and decorated the cakeboard with them. I also handpainted the ganache gold for the first time.
