At least, thats what my two year old nephew calls his favourite movie character :D
And his face in this picture makes all the work worthwhile, although the little sweetheart didn’t understand that it was actually a cake!
Because I don’t do cake themes that infringe on copyright I won’t be selling this cake, but for my nephews (and for my new niece’s future cakes) they get to choose a theme and I do them a cake as a birthday present.
When I saw Dorothy Klerck’s gorgeous, gravity-defying, Nemo cake I was sorely tempted to try one myself, but I sill need to do a lot of research on the structural side of these cakes…
Then I looked at every single Finding Nemo cake I could find on Cakes Decor, and I found a link to a wonderful cake topper tutorial by Etty.
I gave Nemo a party hat with the number two on it for Ethan’s second birthday.
This is a sugar paste choral-slash-anemone I made for the cake board, which was also decorated with moulded seashells and starfish, and the birthday boy’s name.
Heaven in paper cups!

‘Fishy Meemo’!! Oh I love that! That’s what Nemo should be called from now on!! ;-)
