This is a montage photo. Basically I had nearly completed the mask and then dropped the whole assembly :-( The piece broke across one eye-hole and the ‘fringes’ at the bottom snapped off. Suffice to say I was very upset when it happened!! I kept the larger part, and a week later trimmed off the broken shards, tidied it up, photographed it and then reversed the picture to make a ‘complete’ mask. I’ve then doubled the photo so that I can use the montage for my cover photo on Facebook.
LESSON: if something goes badly wrong, hang on to the pieces and look at them when you can (without crying) to see if they are useable to finish testing your idea or make something else from them xxx

Hi Mandy! Absolutely gorgeous! I understand what you went through completely! I won’t move piped work without 100% complete concentration and often require complete silence from anyone or anything around me. There are moments where I know I’m not quite ready to concentrate, so wait a few moments until I know I am ready. Beautiful pieces. Have noticed your work in the past … but now it is my pleasure to officially now follow! Beverley Way.

Thank you all x In the past I would have simply thrown it away however I’d spent too long hand-painting it for that to happen! Perhaps it’s a new posting ‘section’ – after all, chocolate shops sell mishapes :-D
