This was my very first groom’s cake!! The bride told me that if her hubby to be had all the money in the world he would buy himself and blue VW Camper Van. So she decided to surprise her hubby on their big day with a groom’s cake. This was a white chocolate cake with raspberry buttercream (a favourite flavour of the groom’s). Everything that could go wrong went wrong. The cake once covered ended up with air bubbles – which luckily I managed to remove without having to re-cover. Just as I removed the fondant covered cake from the table my kitchen light fitting decided to explode, covering my kitchen table in glass. The next day I ended up decorating this groom’s cake by lighting my kitchen with numerous lamps. Not the best experience I had – but it was all worth it in the end as the Groom loved it!! The purple ribbon round the board was added to tie in with the wedding colours and the main wedding cake.
